However, there are significant scientific contributions that have been made in the modern technologies that can relate medical errors to the cause of death. The researchers described medical errors as healthcare deviations that may lead to harm to the patient. Although some errors are not consequential these errors have the potential of ending the life of an individual. According to the institute of medicine report, the issue of medical errors is a serious public health concern. They estimated that the number of deaths arising from medical errors cause death of over 251000 people as at 2013. When comparing the research data and the CDC the researchers found that medical errors is the third most prevalent cause of medical errors. Human errors are inevitable but there is a need to assess the situation and design the right measures to reduce occurrence and prevalence of medical errors.
